[06 January 2021, Hong Kong] Wealthking-Innovation Capital Limited (“Wealthking-Innovation Capital Limited” or the “Company”, stock code: 1140.HK) is pleased to announce that it was awarded the “Best Financial Company” in the 5th Golden Hong Kong Stock Award thanks to its prominent position in the industry and solid return for investors.

The 5th Golden Hong Kong Stock Award has attracted more than 700 Hong Kong-listed companies to join and has been through 3-month rigid screening. The list of final winners was scored by a professional judging panel based on companies’ financial performance, share price growth and liquidity, social responsibility as well as information disclosure compliance over the past year, together with corresponding public voting weights.

As a leading cross-border and cross-sector investment company, Wealthking-Innovation Capital Limited was listed on the main board of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited and was subsequently selected as a constituent stock of MSCI Hong Kong Micro Cap Index.  The “Best Financial Company” award is not only a recognition to the Company by the industry and investors but also an incentive for the Company to continue to explore excellent investment opportunities to achieve sustained development going forward.  

Leveraging its advantage of long-term capital as a listed company, Wealthking-Innovation Capital Limited mainly focuses on the Greater China area and invests in leading companies with promising prospects in the sectors driven by technology advancement, China’s economic development and social evolvement. Holding key investees as long-term core holding companies, the Company would form various PE/VC funds centering on core holding companies’ supply chain leveraging its resource integration strength on a cross-border and cross-sector basis. As at 30 September 2020, the top three sectors of the Company’s portfolio were medical & health (31%), TMT (21%) and financial services (17%). Its largest position in the medical & health sector was iCarbonX Group Limited, while in the TMT sector, Jiedaibao Limited and Didi Chuxing were the top two holdings. The major investments in the financial services sector mainly included Beijing International Trust Co., Ltd. (a large non-banking financial institution in China),  CSOP Asset Management Ltd. (the largest RQFII asset management company globally) and OPIM Holdings Limited (a leading hedge fund platform in Asia).

Affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and geopolitics, global economy has been facing severe challenges and the financial markets have recorded extreme volatility in 2020. Despite the challenges, the Company has significantly improved its financial performance through exercising prudent investment activities, rigid risk control measures and focused portfolio management. As at 30 September 2020, the Company’s net asset value (NAV) was HK$4,566 million, increasing by 11% as compared to HK$4,114 million six months ago and NAV per share increased to HK$1.57 from HK$1.42 correspondingly. According to the Company’s fiscal year 2020/21 interim report, its ROA and ROE were 8.7% and 9.8% respectively, and the gearing ratio was 0.09, which was maintained at a low level  decreasing the operational risk of the Company significantly.

The Company completed the procedures of official name change to “Wealthking-Innovation Capital Limited” from “OP Financial Limited” in December 2020, to better show the Company’s motivation to generate return and create wealth for its shareholders. Going forward, Wealthking  Investments will continue to leverage its platform and capital advantages as a listed company to explore the best investment opportunities, empower investees with capital and in turn continue to generate return  for shareholders.
